Every Daydreaming Journal should begin with a vision - a big, beautiful, messy dream.
That’s where your Dreamboard comes in. It’s like a treasure map of your hopes, goals, and wildest ideas. It’s not about getting it perfect - it’s about getting it out of your head and onto the page so you can begin to imagine what’s possible.
Whether you’re dreaming of travelling the world, making new friends, trying out for the school play, starting a business, or just feeling more confident - your dream board is your place to begin.

What is a Dreamboard? A Dreamboard (or vision board) is a visual collage of everything that lights you up. You fill the page with words, images, and symbols that represent who you are, who you’re becoming, and what you want more of in your life. It’s a way of setting intentions without pressure - and reminding yourself what really matters.
Step-by-step: Creating your Dreamboard Here’s how to get started with your own dreamy masterpiece:
Start by dreaming Take a moment to close your eyes and think about what you want this year (or this season of your life) to feel like. Ask yourself:
- What do I want to learn?
- What makes me feel good?
- What do I want to try, be, or explore?
- Gather your materials You’ll want scissors, glue or tape, markers, and lots of collage pieces from your Daydreamer’s Lab - think old magazines, photos, textured papers, washi tape, stickers, pressed flowers, and more.
- Choose your base Use a blank page in your journal, or a transparency page layered over a watercolour background. You can even start with a moodboard-style grid to guide your layout.
- Cut, collect, and create Start arranging. Don’t overthink it. Choose colours and images that make you feel something. Write down words or quotes that speak to your heart. Add drawings or little notes just for you.
- Make it yours Layer it. Scribble on top. Add tabs or flaps. This is your page to feel free. Remember - this isn’t about doing it “right.” It’s about making something true.
- Reflect and revisit Your Dreamboard is a work in progress. You can add to it any time. Look back on it when you need motivation, a reminder, or just a little spark of joy.
A few ideas to include:
- YOUR WORD FOR THE YEAR
- YOUR TOP 3 VALUES
- YOUR TOP 3 GOALS
- YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTE
- Photos of places you want to go
- Quotes that make you feel strong or inspired
- Drawings or doodles that represent how you want to feel
- Your values or goals
- Secret wishes (you don’t have to show anyone!)
- A lesson from the previous year

There’s no limit to what you can dream. And when your dreams are visible, they feel just a little bit more real.
